Position Summary

Opportunity:

Come spend a summer with a group of great technology minds to help organizations comply with IT regulations, maintain user and development security among their applications, and securely process financial transitions, while serving as a valued third party provider. Our innovation-driven and fast-paced “work hard, play harder” team has internship opportunities available.

 

We are the technical leaders of our firm that assist community, regional, national, and international clients assess and refine their information security posture, technology implementations, and regulatory compliance. Our clients are among most major industries, such as manufacturing, high-tech, financial/banking, healthcare, transportation, government, entertainment, insurance, and education.

 

Although you are only spending the summer with us, our internship program puts you immediately in the field working directly with our clients around the country! This is not a typical desk job.

Desirable Pre-requisite Knowledge:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact in team environment and foster client relationships
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Familiar with auditing concepts (sampling, creating controls, testing controls)
  • Understanding of commonly used internal control frameworks, including COSO and COBIT
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Eager to develop strong technical skills for technologies and applications our clients use

 

 

Expectations:

  • This is a fast-paced environment with a high learning curve, so we provide many resources and on-the-job training opportunities – if you are willing to learn and build your areas of expertise, you will succeed. You will be exposed to a variety of technologies in different environments
  • Candidates must:
    • Be willing to travel 50%-75% (2-3 weeks per month)
      • Our team travels mostly around the continental US (international travel possible)
      • Most travel consists of 3 or 4 overnights per week
    • Have a passion for Internal Audit, IT Controls, Risk and/or Compliance, and Information Security-related activities
    • Have a desire to continue personal growth through continuing professional education, self-study, pursuit of accounting and audit certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA), and mentoring/training less experienced team members
    • Be capable of independently managing time and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Be able to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences, such as company officers (CEOs, CIOs, CFOs, COOs) and Audit Committees

Qualifications

Education:

We are seeking college juniors or seniors (attending graduate school next year) that are pursuing academic degrees in one of the following preferred majors (or similar background):

  • Management/Computer Information Systems
  • Informatics
  • Information Systems Auditing and Control
  • Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Information Technology / Security / Assurance

 

A minimum 3.0 GPA (major and cumulative) is required; 3.2 GPA (major and cumulative) is preferred. A focus on IT auditing, security, and/or specific technologies would be beneficial but is not required.
